In August 1996 I moved to the George Washington Hotel at 23rd Street and Lexington Avenue in New York City from Bismarck, North Dakota. Over the next four months I drew from life on a weekly basis in Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, tip-toeing into this Brave New World.
