A CAREFULLY CONTAINED UNIVERSE (An Amtrak Story)

Two summers ago Amtrak reached out after seeing some of my sketchbook drawings on Instagram, wondering if I’d like to contribute something to their blog over the Fourth-of-July holiday weekend. I put together a forty-one slide story in words and pictures, documenting my weekly commutes between New York City and the University of the Arts in south Philadelphia where I’ve been a Senior Lecturer in the Illustration Program for the past dozen years. Collected in this small paperback catalog is the visual short story that originally ran on Amtrak’s blog nearly two years ago.
